Her career began with fundraising for nonprofit organizations. Then, Meredith Hilt managed a corporate foundation housed in a communication department, where she discovered she enjoyed all aspects of communication.
“Corporate communications was a natural extension of fund development in that it requires writing that motivates people to act. I truly enjoy this work,” says Meredith, now head of communications for Merative. She was promoted to vice president of communications as of May 6.
Meredith first interacted with the Ritz team in a prior role, where she developed thought leadership content. The Ritz team worked with her to use that material to secure media placements.
Hooked on the innovative and fast-paced nature of the health information technology business, Meredith moved to IBM Watson Health, which became Merative when IBM sold health data and analytics assets to form the new company. She contacted Ritz to work with the new Merative brand and six product solutions in different parts of the health IT continuum.
“I have always appreciated Ritz’s deep expertise in the health IT field. They are eager to collaborate with clients and meet them where they are,” says Meredith. “I am thrilled to work with the Ritz team again at Merative as we develop public relations opportunities for our leaders and solutions.”
Meredith’s writing skills, communications capabilities, and the experience she attributes to her role on effective teams in previous roles are critical to her current team’s success. Encouraging people to act through meaningful content, she motivates her internal and agency staff with consistent goals and clear expectations.
